Dr. Freedman brings mindfulness and meditative perspectives into his work, inspired by over 20 years of meditation practice.
Dr. Freedman founded the Colorado Institute of Behavioral Medicine in order to fulfill his personal mission of bringing greater awareness and appreciation to both patients and medical professionals about
- the importance of empowerment in the areas of health and well being,
- the power of the spirit and the mind to influence physical and psychological health,
- the importance of patients having more active roles in their health care, and
- how communication, language and visualization can facilitate more fulfilling experiences of health care.
In addition to founding CIBM and practicing hypnotherapy and psychotherapy, Dr. Freedman helps mental health professionals develop ideas to get their methods and theories out to the lay and professional public.
