Maintaining a Healthy Energy Field/Auric Field

The energy field/auric field that surrounds your body is a personal resource that is intended to function as a buffer between you and the world. A sound energy field will serve as a source of subtle protection and support as it defines your energetic space and resonates with your personal identity
Some people spontaneously maintain a healthy energy field for themselves, while others find this difficult or a totally foreign concept. Keeping a sound auric field may be a particular problem for people who are uncertain about setting boundaries with others or for people who tend to take on, in a personal way, the problems or ideas of others with whom they are in relationship. When the auric field becomes “polluted” with ideas, problems or energies from outside the self, one can become weakened, tired, and/or confused. And since this is a personal resource, “others” are not helped at all by being held in this space
Guidelines to help build this skill:
Mental Alignment: Recognize that your energy field is a part of you and that no other people, dramas, concerns, or other people’s ideas belong in your energy field. In fact, these things in your auric field will drain you. Know that this is not where relationships are maintained, people cared for, or situations resolved. Affirm this in your heart
Body Focus: Close your eyes. Let your focus drop down into your heart center.
Intention: Affirm your intention, in your heart, to have and maintain a clear and nurturing energy field for yourself.
Action:
- Feel the space around your body and notice if it is cluttered with energies other than you (it is not necessary to identify who/what it is).
- Use your will and intention to push all foreign energies and ideas out of your auric field.
- Draw an energetic seal around the outer edge of your auric field in a tube-like fashion so that the energetic resources of the Earth and Spirit will remain freely accessible to you. How far away from your physical body this outer edge will be will vary from day to day or activity to activity. You are in charge. If you feel claustrophobic, move the sear out somewhat. If you feel too vulnerable, you can draw it in.
- Fill your energy field with light, color, aroma, or energy that you feel would nourish you right now.
Release: Intend that the seal and nourishing forces remain. Gently release your focus and open your eyes.
