Blood Pressure
When my blood pressure got worse, my doctor doubled my medication. Until then the side effects were no big deal, but then they really started to bother me. I started forgetting to take the pills, and of course, my blood pressure would get out of control. I had worked with Dr. Freedman before for insomnia, so I went back to do his blood pressure program. After four sessions of hypnotherapy, my blood pressure went down so much that my doctor put me back on my earlier dose of medications. After six sessions, he cut my doses even more.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome
My IBS started about twelve years ago. At first it was just an annoyance, but then it got worse and worse. In the last few years it had gotten so bad that I had to stop outdoor activities because I could not be more than a minute from a bathroom. This was a big problem bad because my husband and I love to spend outdoors and go hiking. I tried everything I could think of, including fasts, supplements, herbs and acupuncture.
After two hypnotherapy sessions with Dr. Freedman, the IBS calmed to about half what it had been before. I was able to go on short hikes for the first time in three years. Now, after seven weeks of hypnotherapy, I am now going for bike rides, hiking and swimming for as long as I want without any worry. My IBS symptoms are completely gone!

Pain Management
I was terrified about my upcoming breast biopsy because my previous one was extremely painful. Dr. Freedman hypnotized me and taught me self hypnosis, and after six sessions, I was able to experience the biopsy with calm and comfort. In fact, while it was going on, in my mind I was on a tropical beach drinking a margarita. I also use what Dr. Freedman taught me to help with my gout pain - and I have halved the amount of pain medication I use.

Insomnia
I couldn’t even remember the last time I slept more than five hours. I didn’t fall asleep for a long time, and then I’d wake up in the early morning and couldn’t get back to sleep. I was like a zombie, my marriage was horrible, I hated work and resented other people who could sleep. My doctor gave me sleeping pills, but they stopped working, so I started drinking wine to get to sleep. It didn’t work great, but it was better than nothing.
Then I started worked with Dr. Freedman. I was soon getting to sleep right away, and within a month I started to sleep through the night without waking up for the first time in years. Now, I almost always get seven or eight hours of sleep without sleeping pills or wine. When I have trouble sleeping now, I realize it’s time to slow down and I use the self hypnosis exercises Dr. Freedman taught me. I now have more energy, I’m more even tempered, and I’ve even started exercising - and I like it!

Stress
I hated my job because it was so stressful. In particular, every time I got into a project I was interrupted with something else to do. When I got home, my stomach was twisted up and my neck was in knots, and it took me a long time to wind down. Then when the weekend came, I could not have fun because I was wound so tightly. When I worked with Dr. Freedman, I really relaxed for the first time I can remember since I was in my twenties. I am now more relaxed at work and have learned how to easily deal with stressful situations like interruptions. I enjoy my weekends now because of working with Dr. Freedman. Thanks!

Anxiety
I used to walk on eggshells all the time because I was constantly afraid of doing the wrong thing or saying something to offend someone. I couldn’t relax when I was around people, except my family. It was so bad that I only took jobs where I could work alone. When I came home I was so wound up that I just wanted to be by myself, go to bed, or eat cookies. I was seeing a therapist, but she wasn’t helping me much, and I thought maybe hypnotherapy could help me calm down.
In the first two sessions, I had got more from Dr. Freedman than I had in six months of talk therapy. I did not just talk about my problem, I began to change it. Within two months, I no longer felt overwhelmed, I was calmer, I could work around people, and I could ask for what I wanted with my family and my boyfriend. Of course, I then decided on new goals - and met those too! Now, I have a new relationship with someone who respects me, I am taking classes to work with others as a healer, and I am no longer a door mat. Thanks to working with Dr. Freedman, whenever I meet people who are afraid of everything, I realize that I have transformed my life - and I am so grateful.

Depression
I started hypnotherapy with Dr. Freedman because I was having trouble sleeping. While I did start to sleeping better, the real benefit was that I started feeling better about myself. I had been on antidepressants for years, and I had tried several different types. The meds helped with the worst downs, but they also cut out the highs and I felt kind of numb. There were a lot of things in my life I was avoiding because it was just too much to deal with. Dr. Freedman helped me learn to stand up for myself. I started saying “no” to people for the first time without feeling that I hurt them. I started to respect myself, and even start to love myself. Finally, under my doctor’s supervision, I got off my antidepressants. I had a couple of ups and downs, but working with and doing self hypnosis helped me get stronger and feel better about myself each time. It feels good to be taking care of myself and know I do not have to rely on medication.

Trauma
I’ve had several traumas in my life, starting from when I was a child. I was always “on guard” and easily startled, and had a lot of anxiety. Lots of things reminded me of people who had done things to me and I was always getting scared. After the first session of hypnotherapy with Dr. Freedman everything calmed way down. My body was more relaxed, I did not startle as much, I was less guarded, and I was less irritable. It was as if the idle on my motor was cut by half. After more sessions with Dr. Freedman, I continued to relax more, and I could even think of past events with out getting as upset as I used to. I still remember them, but they just do not set me off like they used to.

Weight Loss
I always had 20 or 30 extra pounds, but I was not too worried about it. I actually started hypnotherapy with Dr. Freedman because I couldn’t sleep and my life felt blah. As I worked with Dr. Freedman, I started sleeping better and feeling better about myself, and I noticed that I spontaneously started wanting to eat healthier and exercise. I began cooking vegetables and started swimming three times per week. Then my pants and dresses started to get too large. Without even trying I lost 20 pounds.
